Lowanna and Gippsland Power tee off on Mental Health
Lowanna and Gippsland Power tee off on Mental Health
Story
Hi there!
Lane Ward and I are continuing the tradition started by Bailey Humphrey and Jacob Konstanty by Fundraising and raising awareness for Mindful Aus. We will be doing this by challenging ourselves both mentally and physically by attempting to play 4 rounds of 18 in 3 hours. This will be taking place on the 20th of October at the Warragul Country Club. We will be doing this challenge in two teams, Allan Chandler will be join lane and myself with the other team made up by some former Gippsland Power players. We are aiming to raise awareness and funds so that Mindful Aus can get into schools, sporting clubs and community groups to start the conversation about mental health. We want to see change and believe by doing something like this that we can help start that conversation.
Be The Change
Why we're doing this
Seb Amoroso - I believe mental health is a top priority and not enough people in our community are looking after their own mental health. It is a problem that affects too many young people, especially young men. The sudden passing of an ex Gippsland Power player really opened my eyes to the issue and how important it is to speak up if you’re feeling a bit down. This fundraiser will help Mindful Aus get into the community such as schools and sporting clubs to raise important awareness around how we can work together and be there for our mates in order to fight this issue.
Lane Ward - Mental health is a topic that is important to everyone’s lives and is something that isn’t spoken about enough within communities such as sporting clubs. Having been apart of Gippsland Power footy club, this year we had a tragic loss which affected members of the Gippsland Power family. Seeing close friends affected by this throughout our club made me want to engage in this area to help support and raise awareness for Mental Health. Many young males are being affected by Mental health and with the low amount of education on this topic, our event allows Mindful Aus to connect with areas such as schools and sporting clubs who are lacking education on Mental Health. This will develop and create awareness within the community around us on how everyone can connect and be apart of working together in order to make Mental Health a priority within everyone’s lives.
Mindfull Aus Ltd
Mindfull Aus purpose is to encourage those in high risk areas of Australia to put wellness back in their own hands, enabling them to find their true value, self-worth, purpose and belonging, so that they not only get by and cope but live and lead healthy, happy and fulfilling lives.
